What Each Finish Actually Looks Like

Every photo here was taken on one of our own jobs. A ceiling repair from opened up to finished, a microcement wet room, and a burnished Venetian wall.

Ceiling opened up around a damaged area, exposing the joists and services above — Cut back to sound material. Guessing at the edge of the damage is how a patch fails twice.

Ceiling repair with new board fitted into the opening and base coat applied over it — Boarded and base coated, blended out past the edge of the original opening.

Finished plaster ceiling skimmed and textured to match the original surface — Finished and textured to match. The repaired area is no longer the part you look at.

Venetian plaster wall with a deep burnished finish and visible movement in the surface — Burnished Venetian plaster. The depth is in the layers, which is why it cannot be painted on.
